Do we want to leave - NO !

Well there are no smiles or laughter today!
I know we have to leave our new home in Spain, and return to Lincolnshire for the summer, MORE for me than anyone, as it is already getting a bit warm for me (yesterday was about 28 deg). Dads also have long faces as they want to stay, we all have so many new friends here, its compelling to want to stay. This morning I staged a sit in and refused to go for a walk. Dads were flabbergasted. In the end they persuaded me to go for one last walk around Isla Plana on this stay.

But we have packed our bags they are in the back of the car, and tonight will be the Ibis Hotel in Valencia where we stayed on the way down. The only thing dads are looking forward to is their meal in the Hollywood Diner just down from the hotel (and I am not welcome in there !!!!). Its getting quite warm as we get everything ready, not sure if I am going mad, the humans were saying it was going to be VERY rainy today, and all there is, is blue sky and sun (I wonder about their brains at times, pickled or baked maybe !!)

We have had a great few days leading up to our departure making lots of farewells and parties! One night they slipped out and came back smelling of other dogs. I gave them the third degree and they confessed that they had been up to Julies Finca for an emergency call out. Her Satellite dish needed some fine tuning or something, at least that was their excuse. They told me that the whole sorry saga had started when Julies donkey had rammed into the Satellite dish and bent it, and that it was obviously a Taiwanese one as she had never received English channels. Anyway dads fixed it for her but I made them wash their jeans when they got home to remove the smells, either they bring me mates home, or they wash the smells out their cloths so I don get excited for nothing.

Lunch on the paseo, in the sun, for the last time this stay (Will have to see if there is somewhere similar in Lincoln !!!)

A VERY nice afternoon at my mate Gwen's home (and its a very nice home too). I let the side down though, managed to get some very bad sharp seeds in my fur, and the humans had to spend ages picking them out when we arrived, then I got one stuck in my throat, and I was nearly sick (I don't usually make such an entrance !!). Everything settled down and they had a few drinks and some nibbles, Gwen gave me some lumps of cheese - for medicinal purposes of course (helped clear the seed out my mouth - honest !)

Then I had a very nice surprise, Gwen had done an oil painting of me, and its just like me. I had wondered why she wanted to borrow a couple of my pictures dads had with them a couple of weeks ago, and now I know. We were all very pleased, and dads say they will hang it on the wall in Mojan Hills when we return in September. I have been ribbed a bit, they have been saying that not only have I been photographed by thousands of people from all over the world, and in their albums, now I can be hung in an art gallery....jealousy....If you have it flaunt it, just because they are not as photogenic as me. At least they meet people who would not talk to them normally, so I have helped their social skills (even if its giving my vital statistics to all sorts of people, it also helps Guy with his languages as he has to translate).

Done in oils !! Maybe I could get to be on a postage stamp one day,

Regal I think !!

They keep reminding me I have to go to the Vets in Saumur, on Tuesday, I might tell the Vet I am being traumatised by the humans, I try not to think of my visit for the pet passport, until the last moment when I am being dragged in to the surgery (I hate the smell of hospitals !)

We have been trying to get a place at the car wash for the last 24 hours, we had rain and all the cars are covered in thick sandy dust now the rain has dried. But the car washes have big queues, and the last time we tried there were people shouting cus someone had jumped the queue. We gave up in the end, when we got to Valencia, we had a thunder storm, so a free car wash, even if they will probably have to engage the 4x4 to drive over the ridge of sand around the car !!

So the next leg of our 2500 km journey tomorrow, and we will be out of the land of the bull, into the land of the blessed grape vines - France (but they are the best cus, I get a chance to socialise - restaurants and bars, I will try to keep them sober, while I get them to take me to them ALL.

Chat soon, must be time to settle down, the first gin has been poured !! (downhill form here - must get this uploaded before they lose use of their hand and brains !!)
